15,700 credit card numbers stolen

U.S. bank Western Union have been during the weekend 15 700 credit card numbers and associated names of the owner stolen from the server.
“The administrator was in the system the way and it has the database files left unprotected,” said the Vice President of Communications, Pete Ziverts. “Those who illegally broke into our network, have found this file.” Ziverts hastened to play down the safety-case scenario: “We know there are not more than 15 700, it may as well be less.”
The breakdown was three months after the company introduced a new service: Customers can now send money to Western Union offices, the amount will be charged to your credit card. Western Union was founded in 1871 to send money by telegraph.
Just last week, launched the two new services base business, which was not affected by the data theft. On Tuesday morning, was down the entire company’s Web site. Western Union informed the affected customers on Saturday by e-mail and telephone from a mishap.
Industry observers expect that Western Union will not be sued by customers as long as there are no large withdrawals from the stolen cards.
